SAY YOUR BLESSINGS!

SAY YOUR BLESSINGS!

Don't Forget!  We need to remember to be grateful for the food and drink we are given and have the means to purchase for our survival and nourishment on this planet. So that means you need to bless your food before you take a bite. I know it looks yummy and you can't wait to devour every morsel, but it could be poisoned, it could have a worm or bug in it, it could make you sick, it could be bad for your body and brain, it could be rotten or expired, it could contain something you didn't order on the menu or something that should not be included in the ingredients, and  you could be allergic to it. So, the best way to combat all of that is to bless your food. Say your blessings something like this: Thank you Jesus for this food and drink, purify and sanctify it in your name, let those that have no food or drink, eat and drink as I eat and drink (I got that part from my big sister and I loved it so I use it) and bless the labor that has prepared it. Amen!" That's it. You don't have to recite Bible verses or pray for an hour and start worshipping God, that's not necessary but to each his own if you do. Just a simple prayer of gratitude for what you are about to be blessed to put in your body. It's vital to your survival and a great way to practice using wisdom and talking to God every day. We have to be careful, the world is full of shady people, and you can't trust everyone, even people you know that cook for you or a restaurant that you go to. Not everything is safe and we always need to be grateful. So practice this prayer for 21 days straight and you will create a new habit of blessing your food every time you are about to eat it, even water, that's important! Bon appetit!

Thanksgiving is coming up, don't forget to bless your food and be grateful that you have family around your table with plenty to eat!
